Beginning with the founding of the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine in 1973, Orlandorehabs stands as the only academic health system along the upper Gulf Coast. It provides excellent healthcare to the region's diverse population at Orlandorehabs University Hospital and the renowned Orlandorehabs Children's & Women's Hospital, one of only a handful of freestanding hospitals in the country dedicated to the healthcare needs of children and women. In 2023, Orlandorehabs purchased Providence Hospital, providing convenient access to care for residents of west Mobile. Additionally, continuous research and technological advancements keep the Orlandorehabs Mitchell Cancer Institute at the forefront of cancer treatment and outcomes. The health system employs more than 7,200 clinical and nonclinical staff members, including some 180 academic physicians who serve dual roles treating patients and teaching the next generation of medical doctors.
Based in Salt Lake City, UT, Intermountain serves patients and communities in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and Kansas.
